Product description
The Air-O-Swiss Ultrasonic Warm Mist Humidifier uses high-frequency vibration to generate a micro-fine mist. It has a built-in hygrostat and an output regulator button. A replaceable demineralization cartridge ensures a hygienic, pure water mist, without lime scale or mineral residues. When operated with the pre-heating function, the water is heated to 176°F before it enters the nebulizer chamber. The mist exits the humidifier at a comfortable 104°F, so the mist does not cause room temperature to fall. Pre-heating also keeps the water cleaner. The Air-O-Swiss Ultrasonic Warm Mist Humidifier also features Automatic and Sleep modes. Automatic mode maintains ideal humidity you select in relation to room temperature. When the Sleep mode is set, the unit shuts off after eight hours. Powerful and exchangeable demineralization cartridge prevents white dust Built-in hygrostat for controlled humidification Timer Auto and Sleep modes Output regulator button Multi-function LCD display Powerful and exchangeable demineralization cartridge Quiet operation Easy-to-clean and handle Mains voltage - 120 V/60 Hz Power consumption - 40 W (without preheating), 140 W Room coverage - up to 600 sq. ft. Customer Reviews
For this price, I expected a longer life -- 2010-08-01
I bought one of these units less than 2 years ago. Yes, when it works, it is great! Great fine mist. But reliability is an issue. The first one lasted less than a year. It would no longer make mist. I mailed it back in at my expense. They sent me a reconditioned unit. It lasted less than a year and now does not work! It requires more maintenance than some children. During the last year, I had to replace the water tank because it developed a hairline crack. I had to replace the demineralization cartridge because it leaked granules into the unit. It must be cleaned every two weeks with the EZCal (and I use it only at night; probably more often if you keep it on all the time). The granules have to be replaced every three months. The silver stick has to be replaced every year. Lots of money for replacement stuff; lots of time spent in maintenance. It is like buying shoes for a growing child. The costs never stop.

I will try again to return it under the 3 year warranty. But at $25 a pop to return the unit by mail it is expensive to keep returning the defective units.

If you ignore this warning and buy the unit anyway, take my advice and keep the shipping materials. You will be reusing them.

Ours is 3 yrs old and going strong -- 2010-07-07
I've used a number of humidifiers over the years - all hard to clean, and quick to break. The Air-O-Swiss is exceptional! Well worth the price.

We've used it for 3 years now, every night and sometimes during the day. It might help that we've always used distilled water, or bottled spring water in a pinch. No tap water. It's easy to clean. We replace the filter every 9 months or so, along with the ion stick.

We've had no dust and no water damage from it. It is quiet. Best of all, it has reduced our sinus problems. Before getting this humidifier, I used to get bronchitis at least once a year, and am convinced sleeping in humidified air has helped. Even coughing colds are not as long-lasting or frequent.

Highly recommend! If ours ever stops working, will definitely be buying another.

Works in Chicago winters -- 2010-06-22
The AOS 7135 was bought as a replacement for a humidifier that did not meet my wife's needs. We have used it from Fall through Spring in Chicago to humidify a large master bedroom. It works great for us.
Maintenance details in our climate:
+ Holds enough water for a night during our dry winters. During Fall and Spring we get two nights per filling.
+ The filter canister has lasted a full year with city water, which is soft.
+ Standard weekly maintenance is less than a five minute process.

We would definitely buy this product again.

The Best Humidifier -- 2010-06-09
Of all the humidifiers I've bought, this one is the best and most reliable.
Cleaning is easy. I would recommend it.

P O'ed -- 2010-06-05
I just bought this humidifier with high hopes from all the great reviews. I unpacked it excited to use it. First instructions are to pre-soak the cartridge for a full 24 hours so there is no using it the first night. The next day, I was really excited and put it all together. The tank isn't the easiest to fill but it could be worse. I turned it on and was impressed by all the steam. I had a little trouble figuring out all the buttons but I need to sit down and read the instructions further. I tried for warm mist but it is NOT warm by any means. Then again, this may just be my defective unit. The next morning I noticed the carpet (3 feet below) was quite wet. I shrugged it off and moved it to my child's vanity. The next morning not only was the carpet soaked but the vanity and everything on it. Papers, markers, her butterfly lamp, diapers, ughhhhh. So I put a towel under it. When I checked on it a few hours later the towel was soaked. I had removed the fill tank so I now knew it was the base leaking. I inspected it and traced it to a small hole that is supposed to be in the unit. I don't know why it is coming out from there. There are several holes at the bottom and just one of them is pouring out this water. Now I have to go through the trouble of returning it and cleaning up a big mess!
